American Soldier slide show and captions

2. Click on the photos option.
A. What is the most powerful image from the slideshows? Why?
The 24th photo on the upper right hand corner is the most powerful photo, because it shows the soldiders with their weapons up and ready and the sunset setting and them still awake and the tank that they drive in the background.

B. What sequence of photographs is the most powerful? Why?
The most powerful sequence from the slideshow would be Chapter 4 First Assessment because it shows saying goodbye to love ones and wounds they get from iraq that need to be heeled and covered.


c. How do the images work together to tell a story?
They work together to tell a story by showing that Men and Women are both going to fight for our country with their weapons up and ready all day to serve our country.

3. Click on the "i" button on the upper right side of the photos to see the captions.


A. For the photos in which Ian is the main subject of the photos, in what tense are the verbs usually written?
The verbs are usually writtin for what was going to happen or go on in the photo.

For those of you who have forgotten your verb tenses see the example below.
Present Tense: John jumps down the stairs.
Past Tense: John jumped down the stairs.


B. How do the captions enhance the photographs?
The captions enhance the photo by saying what happened or what was going to happen in the picture.

Write three of your own captions to photos without looking at the caption written by the photographer. Be sure they are written in the following form. For this assignment you can make up names and facts to write your captions.

1.Solider saying Goodbyes to Family at the Airport, before leaving to iraq.

2.Solider training in iraq by doing push-ups in the snow.

3.Solider getting ankle wrapped up in Iraq from a injury.

5. Click on "main menu." Click on "videos."
Because th characters are actually talking and its just not a picture that doesnt anwser your questions and the video they talk about whats theyre feelings and where theyre at are.

B. In what ways are videos better than photographs? Provide an example from the Denver Post Web site.
It shows them telling they're family goodbyes, and what their emotions are. It also lets the video tell the story for itself.

C. In what ways are photos better than videos? Provide an example from the Denver Post Web site.
It says whats happening and the main part of the photo and where the people are going or went and what theyre doing.


A. How do these other features enhance the photographs?
